Growing up in Austin, Tx, Cetan idolised his big guitar hero Stevie Ray Vaughan!  If things should have turned out differently Cetan would without doubt ended up on stage with Stevie Ray, but history decided otherwise as we all know!  Cetan however ended up with drummer Chris Layton ,famous for his work with Stevie Ray and Buddy Guy to name but a few, instead!  Layton played with Cetan on two songs and produced White Heat as well despite his busy schedule.

Cetan’s Style is one that breaths blues rock al over!  Hard rocking self penned blues tunes are alternated with renditions of Jimmy Hendrix , Earl King or Chester Burnett!  His blues is as hard as the one used to Stevie  played years ago and has the same energy of the tunes Jimmy Hendrix played in the early seventies!  Imitating is not his game, but being a guitar hero he plays his instrument with his teeth, left hand, right hand, behind his back , behind his neck, and so on.  Sure we have seen this all before but still it is fresh to see how a younger generation reacts to his blues! Actually that is what blues guys do: take old things and make them fresh. They make it new, not better!  Take for instance his rendition of “Let the Good Times roll” or the 7 minutes version of “Voodoo Chile” and you perfectly know what I’m talking about.  But don’t be mistaken!  Self penned tunes like “Chocolate Bomb”, “Loving A Living Lie” or “Black Revolver” are at least as intense as the covers mentioned earlier.

With Guitar Hero’s all over the world sitting behind their computer or game console , this man proves that you still can be one on stage as well!  Sure he knows the game and has a certain affection to it as well, but for me the real thing is always better and Cetan Clawson is the Real Thing.
